We have really enjoyed the pool at our rec center.  So far whenever we go, it's a big party as we run into so many people that we know.  We all have such a great time.  I have noticed though, my skin is no longer up for sun.  I am now the sit in the shade mama!  Thank goodness there is a good amount of shade at the pool.

Happy Birthday to my Big Sis!

My biggest sis (as in oldest...I don't know which way is better?!) has always been larger than life to me.
She is 9 years older and left for college when I was 10 yrs old.
We haven't lived together in 33 years.  That seems crazy to me.
I always thought she was just so cool and I still think that.
She is independent, strong, opinionated, happy, and faithful.  I strive to be all those things and I am so happy I have such a good example to live up to. 
She has made my Mom and Dad proud since day 1, she is an amazing mom to my 3 nephews, a loving wife to my Brother-in-law, and has always been a wonderful sister to me.

I love you Sis!

Just keep swimming...

Last year while living in FL we swam constantly...multiple times a day. 
It was super easy because we lived in a house with a heated pool. 
The kiddos used it daily for 10 of the 12 months we were there.
We loved having that pool!  

The FL pool...big, deep, and lots of fun!

But mostly we just like to swim.
So we finally visited our rec center pool here in MO and it's AWESOME!
It's only 5 minutes from home but it too bad it's not in our back yard...

Not too bad?!  I think this will do!

Pretty cool pool huh?  I am liking it! 
I think we will be here lots this summer. 
It feels real good to have our feet in a pool once again. 

Maybe this fall we can visit our FL family and put our feet in the Gulf once again.

Wood floor Shuffleboard

We didn't measure, it's not perfect but who cares!  It took Z and I about 5 minutes.  We changed it up a bit from their directions but it worked out perfect!
We used painter's tape to make the board and checkers for our sliders...super simple!

Whatcha been doing?!

So far, here's what we have been up to!!!

The St. Louis Zoo!  The zoo is free so its easy to go for a whole day or just an hour...really nice when you just can't seem to find anything else to do that day.

 Oh and our perennial favorite summer activity...climbing trees!

Yesterday they even headed out to the tree in our front yard with iPod and speakers (the twenty-first century version of the boom box!) so they could hang and listen to their favorite music...Fun! 

Side Note:
Do you have an "I'M BORED" rule?
The one major annoyance of summer is when my kiddos come to me an say this.  I am thinking of putting in place a rule that whenever you say it you have to add .25 cents to the snow cone fund...what do you think?!

We have been each others rock for so long and each of us know that we always will be.  There is no question.  There is no doubt.  It just is.
It's amazing.
It's wonderful.
It's true friendship.

Our kiddos like each other too...it's like hangin' with your cousins(cuz's).  It just works!

Z, K(the cuz!), K and L!  The big cuz was back home working at the pool...he was missed! 

We shopped, ate, drank wine, talked, and laughed and then talked some more!  Can't wait to do it at her house in about 5 weeks!
