14!!

Happy Birthday to my first baby girl!
She is a wonderful girl-so full of life, love, happiness, and sincere kindness.
She is a joy and she blesses our hearts everyday!

She had a fun birthday planned.  She invited her 2 besties and once they arrived we headed to get manicures.  They it was off to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and shopping at the mall.  They went one direction in the mall and her Dad and I went the other.  We were close but not too close!  We met up at 8:45, right before closing and heard all about their 2 hours shopping and having "the best time ever!".

Happy 14th Birthday my Love!

This is the picture I like the best...

K in the middle with her 2 besties!

This is the one K likes!

K's new haircut!

Scary thought...she goes to highschool next year.  She is only 1 year from being able to learn to drive a car.  She LIKES BOYS!
Oh no...

LOVE YOU MY SWEET GIRL!

Katia...growing up and fairy houses!

My oldest baby is growing up and acts that way most of the time.  She is a typical, moody, lovable, eye-rolling pre-teen who I adore with all my heart and who loves me most of the time.

I love that she is just like me...(I hate that she is just like me!)
She loves playing with what few high heels I own, she loves to wear my 1 fancy dress, she loves to paint her nails, she loves to do her sister's hair, she loves to rearrange her room, she loves her girlfriends, she loves to have a craft project and she adores shopping...PERFECT!
But every now and then I still see glimpses of my little girl again and I suddenly know that my time with her, under my wing is growing shorter and shorter.

Here she is just a few years ago...the first day of first grade!  This was such a magical day and I remember it so clearly.  It was early morning and we were waiting for the bus to arrive.  She was nervous because it was the first time she had ever gotten to ride the bus because I took her everyday to kindergarten...I wasn't quite ready to give her up yet.  She met one of her best buddies that day...just 2 short bus stops down!
And here she is today(right)...just 3 weeks ago at 5th grade graduation with her 2 bff's!
Wow!  The time just zooms by and it seems like it can't be possible that we are already here...like I must have missed something.

But as I said, my baby girl still shows up some days...it's always magical.

She designed a sweet fairy house.  It was a rainy day and she worked on this for hours.  It has named beds for each fairy to lay their fairy heads on, wonderful stairs to get to all the floors and backpacks hanging out waiting to help their fairy pals.  I love it!
I love that it combines everything she is all in one...creative, beautiful, sweet, thoughtful, and imaginative.

These days are numbered and I will always cherish every one.  You will always be extra special K as you taught me how to be a mommy and I have loved every minute of it!

I love you K!  Mom

K's fancy, new haircut!!

K turned 11 in January.  She is in 5th grade and will start middle school in August.  She rolls her eyes (yes dad, the tradition has passed on), she is smart and beautiful and full of enthusiasm for life...the perfect pre-teen!  She is a sweet girl!
She has been bugging me to get a "real" haircut by a "real" stylist for a long time.  We finally were able to and I surprised her with an appt to see my favorite stylist (who I haven't seen in about 7 mos).

Here is before the "real" haircut...

my sweet little girl!  (again, that is a temporary tattoo on her forehead)

and here is after...

My beautiful 11 yr. old, almost middle school girl!

Wow...what a difference some bangs and layering make.  She loves her cut!  We made sure to tell Mary that we had to have it long enough to still put up in a pony tail and the bangs can still be pinned back with a clip or hair band.  Success!

I loved watching you get your hair cut K!  You enjoyed every moment and it was fun doing it together!  I love you!
